Musicians from Malawi have found a comfort zone in South Africa with a number of artists scheduled to hit the rainbow nation with music performances.
Gigantic local artists have been entertaining South Africa through live music concerts, a development that has motivated other musicians to follow suit.
The snowball effect has seen a number of Malawian entertainers lining up shows in the rainbow nation at different venues. Cities of Johannesburg and Capetown which accommodate more Malawians have been centres for local talent exposure.
Some of the artists that are to take to the stage in Africa’s home of entertainment include K2B Block, Mafo, Mwanache, Gwamba, Bucci, and Kell Kay. However, dates for their shows have not been revealed.
Malawi24 understands that Gwamba will be performing with singers Bucci and Kell Kay in Capetown whereas K2B Block will be performing in Capetown and Johannesburg, alongside Mwanache and Mafo.
Malawi’s top artists opened the South African door after their concerts proved profitable. The likes of Piksy, and Nepman gave other artists a reason to target South Africa after their shows attracted a huge audience early this year.
The shows are said to attract more Malawian immigrants than native South Africa.
According to Zondwayo Soko, a Malawian who has been living in South Africa since 2000, music events that involve Malawian artists do unite people from the country.
