Diverson Mlozi inspires Bullets to victory over Silver

Big Bullets

The forward came off the bench to seal an all important 2-1 come back  for Nyasa Big Bullets over league leaders Silver Strikers at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Sunday in the TNM Super league.

Diverson Mlozi scored in the 79th minute after Brighton Munthali in goals for the visitors parried away an initial McFarlene Ngwira shot just close to the 18 yard box.

Mlozi had no other option but to play it wide for Munthali who remained on the ground-apparently in pains for a series of injuries he got before the Ngwira effort.

Mathews Sibale had put the Central Bankers in the lead with just four minutes left to recess before Chiukepo Msowoya pulled level from a spot kick in the second half.

Bullets goalkeeper Ernest Kakhobwe was forced off the match after he sustained a shoulder injury in what looked like an aerial duel with Paipi just close to the box. He was replaced by Owen Chaima.

Sibale beat Owen Chaima from close range, tapping in a lowly taken through ball from .

Big Bullets
Sealed the win.

Bullets defence as led by Sankhani Mkandawire had been caught napping thinking Sibale was offside but the forward just made the all important touch from the Victor Limbani ball and put the Bankers ahead.

Limbani had seemingly punished his former club and posed a threat both at the midfield and his passing play with Thuso Paipi had stuck as what mesmerized the match up until half time.

Before recess, Msowoya hit Limbani on his left knee and the forward got booked right away. The match was then marred by incessant poor decisions b the officiating panel which had for several times landed on conflicting decisions over fouls and free kicks.

Muhamad Sulumba’s effort in the 58th minute got just rightly cleared by Lucky Malata before it came off his hands in the box for the Peoples team to get a penalty.

Msowoya did not make any mistake but beat Munthali. He sent him the wrong way to place the match back to square one.

Both sides looked to be searching for a winner of the day but it seemed not a reality.

On the other side of the goal, Munthali stood to his ground and looked as stronger despite his injuries. He made saves to a couple of set pieces from Dalitso Sailesi whose heroics were missed by the side. The left footed midfielder had been sick in the recent weeks.

Bullets then had to change their approach as the chanting fans motivated the players to fight lungs out.

Misfiring Sulumba was then sacrificed for Mlozi who just after a few minutes from his introduction sealed the winner.

Silver Strikers looked all but sent out of focus lacking the attacking ace they displayed upfront and the right flank where Duncan Nyoni had kept showcasing sublime dribbles on Fischer Kondowe looked dead.

Up until the last whistle, Bullets looked more active and killed the Silver midfield and the heroics of Paipi, Nyoni and Limbani never paid any dividend and Bullets won it 2-1.

The result would still look as a blessing in disguise for Silver as they still top the current standings.

The Central Bankers have 29 points, just one ahead of Blue Eagles.

Silver won 3-0 against inform MTV Maxi Bullets on Saturday while the Eagles beat Be Forward Wanderers in an epic clash on the same day.

Bullets have since moved to position 6 with 22 points.

In other matches on Sunday, Moyale Barracks beat Wizards F.C 2-0 while Dwangwa United held Karonga United to a 1-all draw and Epac settled for a barren draw against EPAC. F.C.
