The Flames Under-17 have on Wednesday morning left for Mauritius where they will participate in the Cosafa Under-17 championship which kicks off this weekend.
The Junior team is in Group B together with guest nation Kenya, Zambia and Madagascar.
The boys will kick-start their campaign with a game against Madagascar on 22nd July before playing Zambia two days later. They will then finish their Group B campaign with a match against Kenya on 26th June.
Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has however advised the nation not to expect too much from the team but to rather focus on developing young talents for their smooth transition to the Senior Malawi National Football Team.
Meanwhile Coach Derklerk Msakakuona has picked a 19 man squad for the trip. Below is the list of travelling players:
