It might be a final laugh for conservatives and religious people in the country or it might be depressing news for a good number of Malawians who find pleasure and entertainment in watching naked people.

The Malawi government through the Ministry of Information, Communications Technology and Civic Education says it will introduce measures to block young people in the country from accessing pornographic material on the internet.

Kaliati: Disclosed the news.

Speaking in Lilongwe on Monday, Minister of Information and Civic Education Patricia Kaliati said children are not supposed to access nude materials on the internet.

“We will be having a software to protect children from accessing pornographic materials on the internet as a way to go by to ensure that they grow morally,” said Kaliati.

She added that internet use remains vital to children in the education sector as they read different academic materials.

The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) has since disclosed that they are to ensure that the initiative works effectively.

Meanwhile, Malawi does not block or filter internet content, a development that has seen children below maturity age accessing pornographic materials without restrictions.
