A month after former television personality Dexter Kanike was murdered in the same township and two people were killed in Mbayani, an area close to Chirimba, another man has been found dead in the area.
According to residents in Chirimba township who spoke to Malawi24, the man was found covered up with some big stones close to the railway line in the Chirimba railway line.
It is believed that the people that killed him might have dragged him and dumped him before covering him with the stones.
The identity of the man is not known yet, but people at the scene believe he could be in his early 30s.
‘’Some people who use this path early in the morning were surprised to see some blood spills all over this place and when they alerted people around, we followed the spills and found this man dead here,” said one of the residents.
The people also say that the man’s head looked to have been hit with stones as he had some of his teeth out and the inner chin in blood.
Police have since taken the dead body from the area. They are yet to make a statement on the matter.
Cases of violent murders have increased in the areas around Chirimba with the most recent being the murder of former television personality Dexter Kanike.
