He could not have any other excuse than claiming he is mad and did not know what he was doing when he broke into the mausoleum of Malawi’s ex-President Bingu wa Mutharika at Ndata Farm in Thyolo district where he destroyed several items before he was arrested.
If you ask one Ernest Mayaya Walesi for doing this he will only say he is mad.

He was arrested a day after the incident that has left many people wondering what his intentions were.
The 18 year-old was arrested on Monday for destroying six portraits of the late Mutharika, two serving bowls, two big drawers, window glasses, curtains, picture frames and other valuables.
While it remains sketchy on what Walesi and his yet to be known accomplices might have been looking for at the mausoleum, police have not yet come clear on the matter.
It is feared that the thugs might have had the intentions to sell the valuables. In the Mpumulo wa Bata Mausoleum Mutharika rests with his wife Ethel Mutharika.
