“This year’s Eid-ul-Fitri prayers have come at a time the country is celebrating independence celebrations. Therefore ask Allah the almighty to bless and show his mercy on mother Malawi,” Kunje said.

Yesterday, President Arthur Peter Mutharika also joined Muslims in the country in celebrating the day.

However, celebrations for the EID-ul-Fitri will be held today on 7th July which is also a public holiday.
