Atusaye Chirwa, known in the music showbiz as A-Square, the Mzuzu based singer, is taking his art to the international market.
The eighteen year old artist, who took Malawi music by storm this year with the release of his track in June, ‘Mukanditule’ is currently in the studio with a Zambian group, Zackays. The group is composed of two artists, Zax and Y-Kays.
With a good use of the social media, WhatsApp, the three artists came into contact early this year and started sharing what they love most, music.
In the process they found that they all have the same kind of style and should they make collaboration, it will work out. They took no time and straight went into the business of making the song.
The title of the song is ‘Maria’. It talks about a beautiful black African woman who has won the heart of the man. Produced by Navy and Zackays Beats, the song was done in an Afro-pop beat. It is expected to be out on July 26, 2016.
Asked more on the project, he was quick to assure his fans of the quality of the upcoming work. “To all my fans, I have big plans and all I want is your support. We have put a lot of effort in it and I can assure you that it will be a good song. I also have other projects besides this, so support me because I work hard for you.”
In one of the projects, he is working with Ril-B, the ‘Mwini Zinthu’ hitmaker and Young-Luv of the ‘Sendera’ fame. He says this project is even more ready and will be released before ‘Maria’.
A-Square is fast rising into one of the main singers in Malawi. He has a great voice which works well with his favorite Afro-pop beat. He is of a young age as far as the Malawi industry is concerned. But in a space of one year, he has managed to find his way into recognition and this is due to his good music.
His past work says a lot of what we can expect from his next effort with the Zambian collaborators. He has a great future and one day he will rise to the top of the ladder in the urban music industry. Age and talent are on his side.
