Khuda Muyaba’s first half goal was enough to help Moyale Barracks end Mighty Be Forward Wanderers’ dream of winning this year’s Presidential Cup trophy after beating them 1 nil at Mzuzu stadium on Saturday afternoon in Mzuzu.

The match started on an impressive note but it was Moyale Barracks who looked more dangerous on the attack from the word go as they were pressing for a winner and they were rewarded on the 25th minute of the match when Khuda Muyaba scored their opener.

After that goal Mighty Be forward Wanderers started putting a gallant fight as they were in search for an equalising goal but Moyale Barracks defenders defended in numbers.

Muyaba was a marvel to watch in the first half as he was playing brilliant football and he kept on causing trouble for the Nomads defence which was led by Boston Kabango and Foster Namwera.

After the break, Mighty Wanderers came in with fresh and dangerous ideas as they were pressing for an early goal.

The Moyale Barracks goalkeeper Juma Chikwenga was called into action on several occasions as he saved shots from the Nomads’ Sparrow Msowoya, Peter Wadabwa, and Isaac Kaliati.

Midway through the second half Mighty, Be forward Wanderers coach Eddington Ng’onamo brought in Belloshigo Amos for the Nomads as he was in search for an equalising goal and the Nigerian did not take long to settle into the game as he was displaying good football.

As the game was going the end, the Nomads kept on dominating possession but Moyale Barracks defenders defended well until the last whistle of the match.

The soldiers will now face Nyasa Big Bullets in the finals of this year’s Presidential Cup which is slated for the 16th of July 2016 at the Civo stadium in Lilongwe.

After the game Moyale Barracks coach Nicholas Mhango said he was very happy with the win and the way his boys performed against Wanderers since they played according to instructions.

Mhango added that his team will start preparations ahead of the final and added that his team will be geared for the final clash against Nyasa Big Bullets.

Mighty Be forward Wanderers team manager Steve Madeira conceded defeat and said it was not the Nomads’ day as they missed a lot of scoring opportunities in promising positions.

Madeira added by congratulating Moyale Barracks for reaching the finals.
