Police in Blantyre have arrested four men suspected to have killed a 13 year-old boy on Thursday at Mbayani Township in the city.
The four, James Paseli aged 22, Tambulani February aged 17, Steven Rashio aged 20 and Tiyesi Saudi aged 24, have been arrested following the murder of a teen who was killed while looking after a banana shade.
Confirming to Malawi24, Blantyre police assistant spokesperson Andrew Mayawo said they have arrested the four suspects as part of the investigations on the murder.
“At the time the incident was reported it was against unknown criminals until Monday the 27 when Blantyre Police CID arrested the 4 and they are being kept at Blantyre police,” added Mayawo.
The four are accused of killing the boy last week when he, together with his brother, was waiting for their father who went to purchase another stock of banana.
The boy’s body was discovered at around 6am when the younger brother told the mother Mrs Mary Khome aged 39 that his brother was bleeding in the shade.
The suspects are yet to appear in court to answer the charge of murder which is contrary to section 210 of the penal code.
