Ufulu Festival clocks three years: Independence Day show set for LL

Ufulu Festival which is organised by a Lilongwe based Flood Church will this year take place in Lilongwe at Mbowe Filling Station on July 6.

The annual Independence Day celebration which is a free and public event was first held in 2014 in the Capital City and this year’s event will be the third one.

According to the organisers, the festival is a platform for the country’s youth and families to enjoy their culture and celebrate freedom in a communal way hence looking ahead to a great future.

Ufulu Festival has become the first of its kind since it was launched in Lilongwe and this year’s is expected to be witnessed by a huge patronage.

With a gold line-up of talented artists such as DJ Kali, Qabaniso Malewezi, Ernest Ikwanga, Menes La Plume, Theo Thomson, Sam Mjura, Joshua Matonga, Nyali Music, and Suffix the event will also feature dance and other cultural activities, children’s play and craft area as well as visual and interactive arts.

The festival is expected to kick off at 1PM and will be hosted by MBC’s Joy Nathu.
