DPP cadets hunt Winiko

Bon Kalindo

He was seen to be a joker like the rest of his friends, having fun and not caring about the consequences in his blue team and now Bon Kalindo now claims that his life is in danger.

Member of Parliament for Mulanje South Kalindo might have gained prominence for leading a semi-naked parade against the killing of people with albinism but his action has angered other officials in the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

At a rally addressed by the President of the party Peter Mutharika in Mulanje which is also the district where Kalindo comes from, the legislator is reported to have been blocked by party cadets.

Bon Kalindo claims DPP youth leaders threatened him.

“When I arrived, I was told by three youth cadets, among the three, two I already know them. They told me to leave saying it was a directive from the top. I managed to get my seat but lucky enough the police alerted me that some were planning to kill me and they escorted me for a 10 kilometer distance,” said Kalindo.

He added that he is hiding following plans from his party to hurt him for leading the demonstrations on Thursday.

“They also said that I don’t deserve to be a member of DPP because I was condemning the barbaric act of killing persons with albinism,” added Kalindo.

Regional governor of the party in the southern region Charles Mchacha said that the parade was not sanctioned by the people of Mulanje nor was it endorsed by the DPP.

Earlier on, Kalindo was reported to have received criticism from people for organizing the nude parade, arguing that it was part of his “drama skills”

  4. People with albinism are being hunted down. The graves where they are buried are being hunted. Those who fight for their rights are being hunted; who is the HUNTER??????

  5. Winiko being a God sent, enemies won’t succed, they will make him a hero just like john chilembwe and others.why lucious banda was not part of the demos, yet he pretend top be a fighter for albinos lives?

  6. Sometimes its good to understand where u are coming from and where u are going, who u are and where u stand. Imagine a child embarassing his or her parents publicly, what do u expect from parents? Those are what winiko was expecting from his party. No need of wondering now.

  7. Politics is not a place of jokes like the way u were doing with Michael usi ; this is a serious business man wakeup!
