Mighty Be Forward Wanderers will return to the field of play today when they take on MTV Maxi Bullets in the quarterfinals of the Presidential Cup following the return of the Malawi national team from the Cosafa tournament.

The Nomads have not been involved in the league and the Presidential Cup for the past three weeks after they supplied five of their key players to the Malawi national team which lost 3 nil at home to Zimbabwe in the 2016 African Cup of Nations before being knocked out of this year’s Cosafa Cup in the group stages of the tournament.

The wait is now over as Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has handed them a date with MTV Maxi Bullets at the Kamuzu stadium in Blantyre on Wednesday afternoon.

FAM competitions manager Gomegzani Zakazaka confirmed that the Nomads will be in a titanic battle with Max Bullets this week and said the game will cost Blantyre football lovers K1000 if they are going to watch the match from the open stands.

It is promising to be an entertaining clash as both the Nomads and Max Bullets will be looking to book their place in the semifinals of the Presidential Initiative on Sports Cup.

MTV Maxi Bullets coach Trevor Kajawa was quoted by one of the media house in the country as saying that today’s match will not be an easy game for his team but they are going to go flat out to frustrate the Nomads.

Despite being on a strange position in the league, the 2015 Carlsberg cup champions are favourites to send Max Bullets out of this year’s Presidential Cup as they have got quality players who are capable of winning important matches.

In a related development, Nyasa Big Bullets will also return to the field of play this weekend when they take on Kabwafu United in another Presidential Cup quarterfinal match which will be played at Mzuzu stadium in Mzuzu on Saturday afternoon.

The 2015 Super League champions were also out of action in both the cup and the league after they contributed more than five players to the national team.

The winners between Wanderers v MTV Maxi Bullets and Kabwafu v Nyasa Big Bullets will advance to the semifinals of the Presidential Cup where they will join Mafco fc and Moyale Barracks who reached the round 3 weeks ago.
