Call it multi-tasking or a passion left for the trade that made him known. Blantyre South Member of Parliament Allan Ngumuya is going back to his roots.
Ngumuya has a music assignment to fulfil in Jamaica that will see him record an album in the genre popular in the country, Reggae.
However, more concrete facts pertaining to his mission remain eclipsed as he only said he will have to talk to Jamaican producers first.
Then after making studio arrangements all will be set for the journey.
His songs which are mostly inspired by the Seventh Day Adventist tunes, make up a total 15 albums.
Since the onset of his career, he has not departed from gospel music which has made him another artist of the people.
Ngumuya with the likes of Reverend Chimwemwe Mhango, and Sir Paul Banda, laid foundations for the vibrant local gospel. The legendary figures still stand out despite the emergence of other artists.
The singer spent 15 years in the diaspora, United States of America, where he continued with his music career while studying.
He is one of the legendary figures in as far as Malawi music is concerned, having been in the creative industry for close to 31 years.
