The Reggae sounds cannot only be coming clear. There has to be something behind it.

And, this time around Malawi24 can reveal that it is the lovely Carlsberg that is behind the audio and video of Ma Blacks’ Kuimba 10 DVD. The launch.

Carlsberg Malawi Limited has signed a multimillion Kwacha deal with Cream Company, organizers of what promises to be a must watch Kuimba 10 DVD launch for Malawi’s flagship reggae grouping: The Black Missionaries.

This has been revealed by Cream Company Chief Executive Officer Timothy Adrian Chikoti.

While the exact figures of the deal are yet to be revealed, the deal is in the regions of Millions of Kwachas, something which Chikoti says has seen the upsurge of the hype of the shows.

‘’This means that Carlsberg has qualified to be platinum sponsor and hence they have been granted the naming rights of the event. That being so, the name of the DVD album launch won’t be Kuimba 10 DVD album launch but Carlsberg’s Kuimba 10 DVD album launch,” he said.

The show is slated for 12 August at Robins Park in Blantyre but there will be other concerts in Lilongwe and Mzuzu though dates and venues are yet to be named.

Chikoti says ‘Ma Blacks’ – as better known by their following – have completed the shooting of the videos and the Kuimba 10 DVD is slated to be out by mid-July.

“The DVD has already been shot; now we are waiting for the editing and studio work,’’ he said.

As part of the build up to the shows, Malawi24 has also been named as partner of the launch of the DVD.

It is rare to watch videos of the reggae group but with this DVD coming out by July, it’s something which is a novelty the outfit deserved to consider.

Cream Company has urged the fans to be on the lookout for the shows.
