The Mwanza First Grade Magistrate Court has sentenced a 30 year-old man to 10 years imprisonment for raping his 15 year-old niece.
The rapist, Madalitso Bwanali, sexually assaulted the girl on the night of November 25, 2014 and fled to Mozambique to escape arrest.
The shameless man returned from Mozambique in March thinking that the issue had been forgotten but Police arrested him following a tip from members of the community.
In court, the vile rapist pleaded not guilty to the charge of defilement but presiding Judge Ranwell Mangazi found him guilty after three state witnesses testified against him.
Mangazi went on to convict and sentence Bwanali to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour.
Bwanali hails from Maganga village, Traditional Authority Kanduku in Mwanza.
