Police in Ntchisi district have arrested a 28 year-old man who was found with a motorcycle which is suspected to have been stolen.
According to Public Relations Officer for Ntchisi Police station Sergeant Gladson M’bumpha, the suspect has been identified as Davie Pashani.
M’bumpha said the man was arrested on Sunday at Malomo Trading centre in the district.
“We received a tip-off from a well-wisher that the suspect was keeping a motorcycle Dayun red in colour in his house and we followed up the man,” said M’bumpha.
He added that investigations led to the arrest of the suspect and the motorcycle was recovered.
According to M’bumpha, during interrogations the man revealed that he stole the motorcycle from Amos Matanje of Kasungu Trading Centre.
Police are now trying to trace the owner and the suspect has since been charged with the offence of being found in possession of property suspected to have been stolen.
