Half Time analysis

The Flames of Malawi are being roasted by the Warriors of Zimbabwe at the National Stadium in Harare.

The formation being used by Enerst Mtawali has proved costly as he has opted to kill off the wingers, forcing Stainley Sanudi and Francis Mulimbika to overlap hence leaving the defence wide open.

The only active player in the midfield was Joseph Kamwendo but John Banda (who was substituted just before the half time), Rafick Namwera and Wonder Jeremani are failing to win the midfield battle.

Upfront, Chiukepo Msowoya was a passenger in the entire minutes without making any attempt at goal.

We had some chances too but Banda was wasteful in front of goals no wonder he won’t be part of the team in the second half. Sanudi’s movement at the back, and the mistake by Namwera resulted into that penalty which was converted by Knowledge Musona himself.

Our defence was at fault too for the second goal, with Sanudi and Nyirenda completely opening the gap at the back, allowing unmarked Khama Billiat to make an easy tap in into the back of the net to the delightful of the home fans.

The midfield is not ticking, the defence is disorganized and the striking force is fast sleeping. Overall, we have been awful in the field of play.
