Mutharika blamed for not taking serious issues at heart.

Opposition Malawi Forum for Unity and Development (Mafunde) says government is still failing to address important issues despite President Peter Mutharika’s claim in 2014 that there will be business unusual during his reign.

The party says there is need for government to take issues of food security, corruption, and fraud seriously.

Mafunde president George Mnesa said government should put in place serious measures to end corruption as well as fraud in the country.

“Stealing in government is still a problem as it is business as usual. There should have been strong measures put in place to end corruption in government departments,” said Mnesa.

He added that government should make sure that people who stole public funds in the cashgate scandal should face the law.

Mnesa also spoke on the issue of killings of albinos saying there is need for consultative efforts to curb the attacks.
