President Peter Mutharika has promised northerners and Malawians at large that his government will renovate and maintain Mzuzu airport.
Mutharika said this at the official opening of the Reserve Bank of Malawi Mzuzu branch at Katoto in Mzuzu.
“We have been searching for a place in Mzuzu to build a new airport but until today the place has not been found. This has forced us just to renovate and maintain the old airport for the meantime,” said Mutharika.
Mzuzu airport is one of the areas that look very terrible inside the city of Mzuzu.
The airport looks like an abandoned place as it has overgrown grass and dilapidated structures.
