Breaking: Ex deputy ambassador to Ethiopia arrested

Breaking News

Reports reaching Malawi24 indicate that Malawi’s former Deputy Ambassador to Ethiopia Doreen Kapanga has been arrested.

Kapanga who was Deputy Police Inspector General before being sent to the Malawi embassy in Ethiopia has been arrested in Lilongwe, sources privy to development have confirmed.

Last month Malawi24 reported that Kapanga and secretary Fletcher Chowe in Ethiopia were suspended on suspicions that they were involved in a series of corrupt activities that saw the Malawi government being defrauded money amounting to MK293 Million.

Initially, the amount a preliminary audit came up with was MK20 Million before it skyrocketed to MK293 Million after a subsequent audit.
