A man in Machinga district has committed suicide after suspecting his wife of cheating on him.
According to Machinga Police Public Relations Officer Constable Davie Sulumba, the deceased had quarrels with his wife since he was accusing her of having an affair with another man.
During the evening, the family slept together but people were shocked in the morning when they found the deceased hanging in a mango tree behind his house.
A post-mortem revealed that the deceased died due to suffocation.
Police in Machinga have since urged people to report their quarrels to victim support units and not committing suicide like what Monjeza did.
The deceased hailed from Philima village, Traditional Authority Liwonde in Machinga.
