African Institutions of higher learning have failed to make the list of the world’s top 100 universities.
London’s Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2016 show that the continent’s best tertiary institutions are not among the world’s best.
The list has seen more universities from United States of America (USA) being included with a few from Asia also making it.
Harvard University (United States of America), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (United States of America), Stanford University (United States of America), University of Cambridge (United Kingdom) and University of Oxford (United Kingdom) make up the top five.
Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings assesses institutions of higher learning by employing the world’s largest invitation to universities around the globe.
The 2016 rankings are based on a survey of 10,300 senior academics from 133 countries.
The reputation league table is based on nothing more than subjective judgement – but it is the considered expert judgement of the senior and published academics.
