The Information Communication Technology Association of Malawi (ICTAM) announced today that in a bid to engage with stakeholders in the industry it has established its secretariat offices in Lilongwe.
This comes after the association ushered in the new executive members, where it’s elected President promised among other things to establish permanent offices for its secretariat.
Speaking in an interview the publicity secretary said since the association’s AGM a lot has happened and that the secretariat offices is one developments.
ICTAM has played over the years an advisory role in the ICT policies and it is very important that we build the association if we are to re-present the professionals in this country but also in order to continue our
multistakeholderism advisory role to the government on issues of national development in as far as ICT is concerned noted Bram Fudzulani who is the association’s publicity secretary.
Fudzulani said the new secretariat offices are located in Lilongwe city center, Filimon House ground floor.
He said the association will be putting a job vacancy this week for the post of the Administrative Assistant to help run the affairs of the office.
Commenting on the development Mr. Wisely Phiri who is the president of the association promised a vibrant and active association citing some of the planned activities which are aimed at engaging more with its stakeholder members as well as the professionals in the industry.
He said they will soon be launching the association’s website which is already live and can be accessed through the URL: http://www.ictam.org.mw .
Phiri said the ideal is to have an online platform through which members can be regularly updated through the planned e-newsletter but also the news section of the website.
The association had its 10th AGM which was held on the 27th February this year at Cross Roads Hotel, where the chairman of the media committee of parliament and his vice were the guest of honor.
ICT Association of Malawi is a professional body for the professionals in the industry with a primary objective of ongoing development and growth of the ICT industry in Malawi.
