Speaking during the opening ceremony of a two-day training on Tuesday
at Shant Community Hall, Ntchisi district Rehabilitation Officer Davie
Banda said the training is aimed at equipping the teachers with skills
on how to include and manage children with disabilities in mainstream
classrooms from their respective schools.

He said the training is important because it will help the attitudes
of teachers towards children with disabilities and are likely to send
similar messages to parents, fellow teachers and the community.

One of the teachers, Asiyatu Rajab, of Ntchisi LEA School, commended
Macoha for the training.

She said at first it was difficult to handle children with impairment
and has encouraged other stakeholders to emulate from Macoha in their
programmes.
