Musician Shammah asks artists to support each other

One of the up and coming artists in the country Shammah Vocalz Storah says there is great talent in gospel music and all that is needed is for musician to support each other.

According to Storah, only 30 percent of Malawian talented gospel musicians make it while the others fail due to lack of support.

“In Malawi we have great talent but the problem is successful gospel artists fail to support up and coming artists which is making it hard for up and coming artists to penetrate into the industry,” said Storah.

The 21 year-old artist started his music journey in 2012 but he did not take it serious until people encouraged him to do serious music.

Storah has since released a mixtape titled ‘Amayankha’ which has five songs with the.

He said he started to sing gospel music because he is a born again Christian and wants to win souls into the kingdom of God through music.

”I sing gospel music because I received Jesus as my saviour and I want others to receive the same grace I received,” he said.

Inspired by Chris Tomlin and the Casting Crowns on the international scene, he hopes of ministering through music not only in Malawi but also outside the country.

His mixtape has songs like Amayankha, Prayer of a sinner, Lonely girl, Beauty ashes and Kusowa Chikondi.

Storah says he plans to start recording an album which will be released later this year.
