Woman ‘gives birth’ to a live snake

A story has gone viral on the social media that a woman in Malawi’s capital Lilongwe, has given birth to a live snake.

Julius Mithi, known for issuing concrete reports, said the woman who had given birth to the snake in Area 25, was in police protection from a mob.

But a cross section of people from Area 25 trashed the story to be a hoax. While commenting on the post Mithi had shared, the people the incident never took place in the Area.

This has reminded Facebook users of another hoax that claimed a Pentecostal pastor turned into a snake in the course of a sermon in the same area.
