Flames goal scorers to be rewarded

Businessman Ali Mwachande has pledged to give K50, 000 to every Flames goal scorer during the game against Guinea at Kamuzu Stadium on Tuesday.

Mwachande said he wanted to give the reward to only one score who will score the Malawi national team winning goal but with support from some well-wishers he will be paying K50, 000 for any goal that will be scored by Malawi.

“I am glad that some people have come forward in support of my pledge that instead of only looking at one individual we must extend it to all scorers,” Mwachande said.

This will be a boost to the Malawi national team players as they will be facing Guinea in a Group L encounter.

Both teams will both be looking for a win in order to increase their chances of qualifying to next year’s African Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Both Malawi and Guinea are tied on points in group L with two points each but the Flames are ranked on position 3 with a superior goal difference whereas the Syli National are still anchoring the table.

Swaziland are still topping group L with 5 points whereas Zimbabwe are ranked second with the same number of points.

  91. This is individualizing the game and in a situation where focus is individual success it becomes hard to work as a team in cooperating for the common good. Its better to promise the team not individual, for in as far as football is concerned, no single player can score without the help of other players. I’m not a football follower but this move is a road to failure. Every player will go in the ground with personal interest and psychologically its destructive.
