Nomads; have beaten Red Lions

The Nomads started the match on an impressive note as Sparrow Msowoya, Patrick Gunde, Rafiq Namwera, Peter Wadabwa, Jimmy Zakazaka and Luke Milanze were playing some quality possession football.

Ten minutes into the first half, the Zomba based soldiers settled into the game and started pressurising the Nomads goal but they failed to unlock the solid defence that was mounted by Bongani Kaipa, Stuart Gerald and Foster Namwera.

Jimmy Zakazaka then put the Nomads ahead  before Boniface Kaulesi equalised and the score was 1-1 when the two sides were going for the break.

Come second half, both Nomads and the soldiers came in with new ideas but none of the teams failed to find the back of the net in the opening minutes.

The Nomads however retook the lead through Zakazaka who scored his second goal of the afternoon to make it 2-1.

Minutes later, they were awarded a penalty and striker Peter Wadabwa made no mistake from the spot. The game ended 3-1 in favour of the Nomads.

In another game, the Malawi National Team beat Azam Tigers 2-0 at Chiwembe Ground with Chiukepo Msowoya scoring both goals for the Flames.

After the game Malawi National Team coach Ernest Mtawari thanked Azam Tigers for giving the Flames a tough training game.
