Veteran coach, Leo Mpulula says he will soon take action against Lilongwe based football club Epac in order to get the five-month salary arrears the club owes him.
The coach, who got sacked at Epac last year due to poor results and disciplinary issues, said his ex-club must pay him for the five months he did not receive his salary.
Mpulula said he thinks this is the right time to act taking into consideration that on paper he was still a coach for the team as his contract with the club ended last week.
The coach, who has signed a contract with newly promoted Super League side Max Bullets, said the club did not pay him his wages from September 2015 to January this year.
“Now I need the money. I have been talking and talking but not acting, but this time, Epac will be taken to task. The reason why I was not acting is that I was waiting for my contract to mature and now it has. So am also appealing to well-wishers who can help me on the matter to get my money back,” said Mpulula.
He further said he doesn’t know where the team thought he was getting money to feed himself and his family since that time.
Mpulula has warned that the action he will take will also serve as a lesson to all the clubs in the country that just employ coaches and then fail to give them their salaries which he said is not a good development in the world of football.
