Japanese attacking midfielder Genki Nakamura who is trying his luck at Mighty Wanderers says he is impressed with the club.

The 29 year-old striker who jetted into the country through Lilongwe last week with the intention of playing for any Malawian team has started his two week trials with the Blantyre based giants.

Genki Nakamura: Happy at Nomads.

Speaking in an interview with Malawi24 on his second day of training, Nakamura said he is enjoying playing for Nomads and described the players as friendly.

“I am enjoying being here despite the hot weather in this country, Wanderers are a good team and I am impressed with how friendly the players are,” Nakamura said.

Malawi24 spoke to some Wanderers players and they described the coming of Nakamura as a boost for them, saying they are ready to learn from one another.

“We are ready to play with him, we have welcomed him,” said one of the strikers.

Nakamura who also play as a striker is set to train with the Nomads for a fortnight before he can be offered a contract by the club.

Mighty Wanderers are expected to make more signings as they have loaned out Eliya Munthali and Precious Msosa while Jacob Ngwira and Victor Nyirenda have been released.

  1. The issue is that the car dealing company which is sponsoring wanderers is the one which will be paying him. Beforwad itself will be responsible for his remuneration and welfare. So you vendors of big bullets understand what has been said by nomads’ executive .don’t just make noise while you are devoid of truth on the matter.stop your nonsense and live noma alone.nyerere woyee

    1. According your views Malawi can not devep in football, ask even Barcelona fc players never receive the same amount ,,, ur are ful of jealous man wanderes wil never be the some this coming season!!

    4. Thats the point #Frank, but when it comes to you #Rajiv i disagree with you because we can always watch fantastic football provided coaches change system the teams play.Don’t be cheated that the coming of Nakamura gonna change football in Malawi NO ways. But all players must be treated equally when it comes to monitory issues,if a foreigner receives millions locals too must receive that

(3)the cost of having nakamura outweighs the benefits he’ll bring to the team. (4)butao usamale mayankhulidwe mungayambe kuona zakuda ngati za season yatha zija

    1. And for that matter,Wanderers play a passing game only that their output was poor last season…..I can’t voice out about that Japanese player because I have never seen him play!

    2. u want me to analyse each player?u know the quality of fodya?can he play the same way flamini for arsenal does?fodya is better than flamini.serious tisamaphwekese.remember what chiukepo has done at international level& i think ukukumbukila bwino perfomance ya fisher ku egypt.to be serious with u,wanderes siyingatenge league this season.ma player amagula mwa umbuli.bullets are the favourites

    3. kklkklkkk world class player in Nyasaland plx tell me u’re jocking because those cows you mention here they can’t even play jomo cosimos here in Rsa

    4. hahahaha…ma touches a fodya amachita kukoma.the versatility of sailesi/mc farren is what i like most.no wonder,we’d four straight wins in two seasons past the nomads.ndikunena head to head mu superleague.mwinaxo siukudziwa, nakamurayo ndi supporter wa bullets, wayiwala za sulumba

    5. muli bwino ndinu Sulumba anakhoza ma trials kamodzi ndi kamodzi ku bullets.hahahaha..neba akakhala opusa umatha kumulanda mkazi

    6. My friend, being world class is never easy like you have highlighted in your asinine comment.I know Fodya and the likes as good footballers enjoying their forms in the local football circles and I would label them tnm super league’s quality products. Our local football is very easy here and you can’t compare it to English Premier League.Players you regard avarage in epl like Flamini,Fellaini,Gibbs,Defoe(just to mention a few) would shine here in Malawi while players you regard gigantic qualities in tnm super league would fail miserably even in Absa league. The physicality, tempo, beauty of our game is below avarage so never come one day and claim YOUR players are world class ok?Your analysis leaves a lot to be desired!

    7. find out how the didier drogbas, yaya toures, mikel obis found themselves in worlds top flight leagues.u will appreciate the fact that the chiukepos are indeed world class players.malawis football lacks alot to be desired, not my analysis.you sit down& do a cross examination of our football &then argue based on facts.look at the administraters we have had.believe it or not, bullets has quality than any other team in malawi.i mean world class players.wanderers’ main problem, siyimadziwa chomwe ikufuna.u are buying 20 midfielders yet the only left back u’ve is Ted Suman.mlimbika anzake anamwalira sangamake chande.mbuli za ma coach muli nazo kumeneko sizingapange improvise player

    8. Wanthuwathu uyu!! tamulandira Agubudutsa m’matope Defence yanu yonse ndikukumwesani zigoli Zosaneneka.kwinaku kaswiri wanu woziwa kuphonya zedi !! Sulumba akukugwililani ntchito yake yotamandika kuphonya mwananu.

    9. Don’t compare Nakamura with Sulumba,Manyenje or Chiukepo because these three BB players are much better than Nakamura.I understand we don’t judge a book by its cover but only on this i confidently say he’s not world class.Next season expect Sulumba or Chiukepo to be the top goalscorer

    10. What have they shown the world to be named world class?Answer that question intelligently boss and you will realise they have done nothing. In my view, they have done a major part in Malawian football and that’s Super League of Malawi, therefore, call them tnm league stars. They are simply Malawian best players currently and I could never deny that fact. The Yayas stole the show at African Cup Of Nation and they went on to shine in major leagues across the world and calling these players world class is never a crime.Put tnm super league on the scale out of major leagues in the world or even in Africa and you will ask yourself why the Fodyas are shinning.

    11. Mulewa….I am a Nomad and I didn’t say our players are better than yours. My substantial argument is based on the fact you are claiming Fodya,Chiukepo and the likes who also happen to my favourites, are world class. Honestly, I am a soccer fanatic and I am not jealous of your BB side. You simply have good players of which I also happen to like.A simple question you need to answer is,define a world class player?I am not trying to underestimate your soccer understanding, but the opinion that you have labelled them in that way, leaves me mouth agape.Once again,I am a football fanatic and not a club fanatic in such that my first interest is FOOTBALL and then Arsenal followed by my dear WANDERERS!

    12. learn to flex your mind sometimes.being a soccer fanatic does not guarantee the fact that u knw everything.yes,u have an idea.u knw a world class player as someone who has done wonders in the world, has been ranked among the worlds best& received accolades.many soccer pundits will agree with u.but is that all?doesn’t the word “world class” mean something else?ask two or three scholars, someone must tell u that this word means “OF INTERNATIONAL STANDARD”.what is a standard?in simple terms,we can make comparisons to say…chiukepo’s style of play matches that of suarez.sulumba’s touches are as good as those of Olivier Giroud.

    13. To begin with, thanks for your realisation. Understand there is no war here of which I highly respect you hold the feeling.I understand standard as ‘the level of quality’ and this isn’t necessarily universal as you express it.Well,I am not Mr-know-it-all,but I have a certain confidential high percentage of understanding in this beautiful game.I watch football from many angles and I try to relate their play to our local football. To be honest with you,our play lack many aspects and I sometimes find myself at fault making that comparison coz see this is Malawian football……. When I always young,I used to argue with friends that Joseph Kamwendo would thrive in any league in the world until I realised he is an attacking mid full of Back-Passes. You see,the nature of our league cheated me.At the moments, those players are still prodigies.

    14. i think u have a point but its just that u dont understand what am saying.when i say international standard,i dont necessarily mean chiukepo will fit well in manchester united squad.here is our football and am saying look,if we’d the passion& all it takes to move forward in magnificent fashion e.g a good administrative archtecture, then we have the quality.look at some of these players, their physic, tempo etc but they are not a product of an academy.so,comparisons should be made in all fairness jxt like when u want apportion cash.u use an equitable basis& not jxt giving each individual the same amount.messi was at an academy,he is doing this.mike kaziputa amamenya mpira omanga& here he is.kamwendo would have gone far if not for complacency.he wanted everyone to see him on the pitch, his passes are not accurate& he values individual brilliance than team work but otherwise he is a good player

    15. MR Mulewa….Do you even know what it means when they say world class player??hehe! I think not, coz you wouldn’t have used that term. world class is a term used to describe a player who can play in a starting eleven of any team in the world on his postion. For instance, Andrea Iniesta is a world class player coz he can start for any team in the world on his postion.

    16. victor chikumbutso nyamuka siukudziwa chomwe ukunena.if u’ve a dictionary, tawona mawu oti world class atanthauzilidwa bwanji?kungoyankha coz ndinu nyelere?if am hear u,angel di maria is a world class player.remember his spell at manchester united.he was being sidelined.do u want another example?

    17. Jms….I think I finally buy your point, but you wouldn’t have said in that way,WORLD CLASS because honestly its a joke.Fodya,Chiukepo and the likes are good players whom I respect very much though I am a Nomad.Vomeleza you missed it pa world class and that’s all.

    18. not at all..u can even google gentlemen.if something is world class,it means it is of international standard.if u knw what the word standard mean then the argument ends there.u want me to admit that players from madrid, barcelona, bayern,PSG& maybe juventus are the world class players as described by soccer pundits in europe?am in malawi& i’ve to look at the word WORLD CLASS as it is.maybe am being too theoritical but thats my conviction anyway

    19. Well, thank you Mulewa, but I am happy you have come to mention something to do with google. In accordance with google,a general term world class simply means international standard of excellence. What is a standard? It simply means a required or an agreed quality somebody or something possesses and if we try to combine the two, what would they mean?Logically, I would define international standard as a required level of excellence at a world level.Let’s translate that into football.Do those players you have mentioned show that quality?Has the world agreed such quality?Have they shinned in Malawi?Certainly, yes!Have they participated in a tougher competition like African Cup to compete with gigantic statues? Certainty, NO!What about the world cup?A big NO!!!If we regard international, are they applying to that gravity?Answer that bro……You will finally realise only Malawians know them!!!!!!

    20. My stand still remains, those players are so good that they have caused tension whenever playing against our Nyerere side the past two seasons.Though, calling them world classes would be so unfair as they proved none to the rest of the world except for Malawi. If we go to Europe,we have also players like Chamberlain for instance,he plays for Arsenal, one of English Clubs top side, but he isn’t world class yet and people call him an avarage player because he hasn’t yet proved to the world in Euro and World Cup,end of!

    23. thats why i asked u to flex your mind.i knw these players have never been to the world cup or received international accolades or recognition.ask yourself, what does it take to be a world class player?play alongside Messi?there is this say, there are no world class players in the EPL.is that true?look at aguero, bererlin, kane, mahrez,to mention a few.these people can show to this world but u will hear that they have not won the champions league so they are not world class.am trying to divert your attention,to look at the word WORLD CLASS interms of quality, just quality.u are saying international std of excellence.maybe the word excellence drives u nuts.yes,it means extremely good.now look, hear is EPL,all top four teams automatically qualify for the champions league.its a different case here.we qualify for CAF but its not automatic as we have to look into our coughers first.so lack of exposure at high levels does not mean the player does not have the qualities.by the wa,why are stars in CAF not world class?

    25. thats why i asked u to flex your mind.i knw these players have never been to the world cup or received international accolades or recognition.ask yourself, what does it take to be a world class player?play alongside Messi?there is this say, there are no world class players in the EPL.is that true?look at aguero, bererlin, kane, mahrez,to mention a few.these people can show to this world but u will hear that they have not won the champions league so they are not world class.am trying to divert your attention,to look at the word WORLD CLASS interms of quality, just quality.u are saying international std of excellence.maybe the word excellence drives u nuts.yes,it means extremely good.now look, hear is EPL,all top four teams automatically qualify for the champions league.its a different case here.we qualify for CAF but its not automatic as we have to look into our coughers first.so lack of exposure at high levels does not mean the player does not have the qualities.by the wa,why are stars in CAF not world class?

    26. Exposure! That’s an immediate answer I would stretch out. See,we have good players in Africa and CAF is slightly equivalent to UEFA in Europe. The fact that CAF’s procedures isn’t that satisfactory leaves a lot to be desired in as far as comparing it to EUFA is concerned.I am a proudly African and I don’t deny Africa has a bunch of stars whom most of them have never been to academies, but they carry an intelligence of the game. There is a story about a Zambian Legend who bosts of scoring over hundred goals in a single season way back, but the world doesn’t believe that simply because he doesn’t have a video proof. On the other hand,African players lack decision making in their game and that’s one of the aspect deteriorating our game. I know you will oppose this, but I would like to meet you one day at the stadium to prove this personally. And Oh!being world class isn’t necessarily playing along Messi at the world cup tournament, but showing what are capable of as a player.

    27. For instance here in Malawi, our mids lack creativity with slightly an exception from BB of which their football is slightly an appetiser. Take Noma, playing passing game leaves supporting cheering and what my fellow fans don’t realise is we create a few chances. Most of goals our teams score are off set-pieces while little from open play. The season bullets first won tnm league, they had me left mouth agape as their play relatively better with a titanic of creativity, but scoring was also harder.I recently watched the same at just the ended African tournament where even commentators were laughing off ‘our’ play when ironically, the same commentators are Africans…… And relate this to where even competitions are tougher James.

    28. that sounds good.i wouldn’t oppose that serious.i think we are now on the same page.let me give two examples from wanderers…two seasons ago,we’d mlimbika(FM7).i was thinking that exporting such a talent to RSA will unfair.he was brilliant.now, look at stanly sanudi in the 2015 season?but these two havent been to an academy.offside rule anayidziwa okulakula& u would imagine that amamenya ndi magolo ang’onoang’ono aja opanda goal keeper.the responsibility to protect the goal was for every player.wakula mkumazindikila kuti ndine defender.i was asking mafana ena ake amamenya under 17 kuti mumanya position yanji.the best they could tell me is that TIMAMENYA KU DIFE.now for someone who has not experienced formal football at a tender age timuone m’mene aliri& tikamamufanizila ndi wina, tiwonexo chimene chikuwasiyanisa.its true,we dont see creativity in the TNM Superleague, but i would attribute this to the managers we have.there was this argument between charles nyirenda& a listener on radio concerning the difference between football culture& philosophy.then we should look at systen/formation &tactic.did u notice why david silver manoeuvre for city?how many free rolls do we see in superleague.how good are we at improvising players?

    29. Yes!This is it now.It seems we are agreeing much when it comes to our local football circles. You would see we have stars here who have never been to academies, but are playing in the top flight. And let me not even go to Europe, I heard there are many academies in North Africa and see how intelligent their products are? They understand football philosophies very well and they adapt very fast. How many players here understand the game plans from their respective coaches? You will see they are NOT complete players despite knowing how to run,how to control the ball and how to pass the ball. You will realise they are still prodigies. By the way, very few Will thrive in external conditions and why is it when our players go to South Africa they are reduces to football academic trials when in Europe they just undergo medical test? Actually I noticed why we failed to win over Algeria when our side was even better in the second half……..its the same intelligence of which we were unable to kill them despite knowing their weakness. So James, take this to players who have learnt football from the age of 8 or so?Could there be many matches?

    30. zinthuzi zikufunika tiziphuzisana especially ana ang’noang’ono.its unfair kuti munthu aziphuzila ma basics atakula& most of these coaches w’ve kumangotitayisa nthawi.game ikatha amangodandaula officiation.imagine what happened with per metersacker& costa, that matchng order.in some circles anthu amakambilana, that should have not been a red card coz sanamugunde.if it was here, akanayamba ndi coach kupanga protest& i was like do these people knw 17 laws of the game.we dont take football seriously, but when u see the patronage u’ll say wow…how much has been exchanged.aja amapaka anthu paint kunkhope aja apanga zingati.ogulitsa ma flag, scurf nanga black ponda.thats the way to go,i mean football has a great contribution on a countries GDP.it is a good investment.imagine if we invested in academies, improved legal framework& build a vibrant national league.ma team athu kumamenya CAF mkumafika patali.zosangalatsa2

    31. Zosangalasadi boss.In fact I have enjoyed this conversation. A substantial argument it has been, osatukwanana, just arguing basing on facts.Stay good bro and hopefully one day we watch mpira limodzi ku ma stand.
