Mighty Wanderers striker Ishmael Thindwa is set to be out for six weeks after he underwent surgery on his knee.
Thindwa’s knee injury forced him to be on the sidelines for close to 4 months last season.
The former Epac football club forward got injured when the Nomads were playing against Dedza Young Soccer FC in a Carlsberg Cup match at Kalulu stadium in Chikhwawa.
Nomads general secretary Mike Butao confirmed that the striker has undergone surgery to repair his knee at Beit cure in Blantyre and he will miss part of the preseason training.
Butao added that they are seeing some progress on Thindwa’s injury after the surgery.
“There is progress on Thindwa’s injury recovery, after some few weeks he will start training with the team. The doctors at Beit Cure have advised him to wait for six weeks before returning to the field of play,” said Butao.
The Malawi international joined the Nomads last year on loan from Zimbabwean elite league team Caps United.
