Malawi Police in Dedza district are looking for thugs who murdered a 70 year-old man on Thursday.
The district’s deputy police publicist constable Cassim Manda confirmed that they have launched a manhunt for the thugs and identified the deceased as Limited Kaliyoti of Gwetsa village in the area of Traditional Authority Kachere in the district.
According to constable Manda, On 18 February 2016 Kaliyoti left his house to fetch firewood in his garden which is just close to Dzalanyama range.
Manda further said as he was leaving his garden heading home, he met the unknown criminals who hacked him on the head.
When the police visited the scene, they found the man’s body with multiple cuts on the head.
Post-mortem results revealed that Limited Kaliyoti died due to head injuries. Meanwhile, police says no person has been arrested in connection with the murder.
