Govt advised to consider PAC resolutions

Political commentators in Malawi have advised government to take the important points that were raised at the conference organized by the Public Affairs Committee (PAC).

One of the country’s political commentators, Humphreys Mvula, said the conference is important since it will assist government to know what to put into consideration as it attempts to revive the country’s economy.

”The conference will be of great importance if government takes the issues that were discussed seriously,” he said.

He added that the meeting was timely and will help improve Malawi’s economy.

”it was a timely meeting as it had discussed different issues affecting Malawians and it’s good that different stakeholders came together to discuss matters of national importance,” he said.

Mvula further said that government must ensure that it is accountable and transparent.

According to Mvula, Malawians have good ideas but the problem is that they fail to implement those ideas.

The PAC meeting which ended on Friday was not without controversy as delegates demanded that President Peter Mutharika should step down, saying he has failed to improve the country’s economy.

  25. I dont believe what these so called PAC members are doing things in good faith. The people attending tge meeting are policy makers some of them took part in developing policies that are being followed. If there are problems are the ones to blame. They rushed making policies and today are emmotionally rushing making resolutions if people start fighting who are behind this? You religious people dont hide behind PAC to achieve your person egos. Malawi is democratically elected government mandated to run its affairs for five years let the people to decide after its term. We are tired of finger pointing. Are we not the very same people we asked donors to pull out money. Why are we crying today. Lets together seat and map way forward in the absence of donors.
