The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has vowed to oust the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) arguing that the party has failed to deliver good leadership for the country.

Speaking to Malawi24, MCP spokesperson Jessie Kabwila said the ruling DPP should swallow its pride and accept that the country is facing a lot of challenges.

“We have had enough from DPP and Malawians we feel time has come to take action, you know we inflated this tube and we will deflate it soon,” said Kabwila.

Kabwila further urged President Peter Mutharika to fire ministers who are reported to have been negligent on national matters.

However, Presidential advisor on civil society Mabvuto Bamusi warned stakeholders at the Public Affairs Committee (PAC) indaba which starts Wednesday to desist from calling on President Peter Mutharika to resign or giving him ultimatums. “We should have collective responsibility for the problems affecting our country.

Calling upon the president to resign or giving him unnecessary ultimatums is not the way to go,” said Bamusi.

He assured delegates that government is ready to listen to the resolutions they will make at the PAC conference and if possible offer solutions.
