Two men rape a teen girl in Machinga

Police in Machinga are keeping in custody two men who raped and impregnated a 14 year-old girl.

Police have confirmed the arrest of the two men and identified them as Mlaka Paul, 38 and his nephew Ernest Dickson, 24. Rape

Machinga Police publicist Davie Sulumba said Mlaka Paul and his wife approached the mother to the victim and asked that the girl should be staying with them. The mother approved since the couple were family friends.

After some time, the mother to the victim saw her daughter coming back with her belongings. Upon quizzing her, she disclosed that the couple kicked her out of their house because she fell pregnant after Paul and his nephew Dickson had raped her.

After the matter was reported to police, officers arrested the two men but Dickson denied impregnating the girl and pointed his finger at Mlaka.

The suspects are in police custody and will soon appear in court to answer charges of defilement in accordance with section 138 of the penal code.

Both Dickson and Paul hail from Mlamba village in the area of sub-traditional authority Mchinguza in Machinga.
