Third Eye raps Goodall

Rapper cum activist Third Eye has hit out at Malawi Finance Minister, Goodall Gondwe, for embarrassing the country over a recent donation by Egypt intended to help curb the maize crisis.

The hip hop artist suggested that the money donated by the Egyptians was too small an amount for a country’s Minister of Finance to receive it in person.

On Tuesday the Arab Republic of Egypt donated K20 million ($27,000) to Malawi to assist Malawians affected by hunger.

Minister of finance Gondwe led government officials at the cheque presentation ceremony where he saluted the North African country for the support saying the money will help save lives of millions of people.

Gondwe’s presence at the ceremony however peeved rapper Third Eye, real name Mandela Mwanza, who suggested on Twitter that the minister should not have attached too much importance to the donation.

The artist also observed that the donation was too small considering it was coming from a “whole government.”

“$27,000 from a whole government? Received by our finance minister in person. I’m done man.” tweeted Third Eye to express his frustrations.

  8. Third eye is sayin da truth,,,hw can 20million save millions of people? Azigawa K1 kwa aliyense? Minister waziphwekesa hevy….

  9. THE COST FOR A MINISTER TO GRACE THIS OCCASSION ON ITS OWN TAKES A WAY A FEW MILLION KWACHAS, THE RESIDUAKL VALUE AFTER ADMIN COSTS (NOW THAT THE MINISTER IS INVOLVED)TO BE PUT TO USE WIILL BE IN THE REGEION OF K10M AND THATS WHAT THE ‘3RD EYE’ HAS SEEN. IT’S MORE TO DO WITH THE 6TH SENSE!!!

  10. Blessed is the hand that giveth than the hand that recieveth. Mulungu sadalitsa munthu chifukwa chakuti wapeleka ndalama zambiri mukachisi, madaliso a mulungu ndi chimodzimodzi ,opeleka ndalama zochepa (osauka),komanso opeleka ndalama yambiri no difference in the eyes of the lord.

  11. This is just childish and third eye has no common sense! How much did he donate to the Malawians? Any donation is awelcome development what kind of musician is this? Even the well known musicians like Lucius Banda, Billy Kaunda, late Evison Matafale as well as Mafunyetta never criticise the government in amanner like this they condemn in acritical condition that leads to bad living standards of people whereby everyone understands the situation, so what, third eye wanted Malawians to ignore Egyptians because the money is too small? Childish!!

  12. This problem is the reason why many Malawians are poor….I have experienced this kind of thinking so many times.

Does the receiver set the standard for the giver? Gratitude is when you say thank you, not for the value received but the gesture of the giver.

We need to change and this song reinforces a sad behavior. You give a man without shoes your old Nikes, he complains wanting new ones? That’s a shame

  15. U ve ran out of songs eeeeh? U stupid fools what ve u done to help ur own countrymen?Dependency syndrome eeeeh? U wanted egypt govt not to give the gift like yourselves. Shame on you ana a njoka. Demeti

  16. If the donation is literally little in his eyes then let him donate much more!!! I humbly ask third eye to stop criticism of no purpose

  17. $27000.00 its ok as long is a gift and has no attachement as same sex marriage becoz they give in good faith, mind you egypt is also an african country and has not yet stablised economy after some riots that has been happen for almost 4years. Malawians we should learn to apriciate the little others has sacficed for the sake of others

  18. He(3rd eye) said and i quote, “the money is too small for a minister to rcv it in person”. I like that point, he could be right if we look it at a different perception. Minister didn’t go alone, but went with other govt officials which also siphoned money for their (the Minister inclusive) allowances. I think we really need to change our systems to save and ensure accountability also. On the hand, donation is donation (either big or small) regardless of where it is coming from, and it can serve its purpose if put to good use…Moreover, it is his opinion and we all need to respect that, no need for him to be threatened.

  20. Third Eye has a valid point.Malawian politicians have put the country to shame for a long time with untiring begging from other countries. They fail to put policies that would spur Malawi’s prosperity but keep on stealing and begging. The country is now well known for begging. It just can’t survive on its own.Malawi has useless leaders not different from a hyena.A hyena doesn’t know how to catch a game but likes to survive on a carcass.
