Newly promoted Malawi Super League side Max Bullets have opted to use Chiwembe ground as the team’s home ground in the 2016 Super League season.

According to reports reaching Malawi24, Max Bullets have selected Chiwembe ground as their home ground for all their Super League games which will begin on the 9th of April 2016.

This means that Max Bullets will be the first ever Super League team to use Chiwembe ground as their home ground since an artificial turf was laid out at the facility.

Max Bullets’ decision to be using Chiwembe stadium will reduce pressure on the Kamuzu Stadium as all Blantyre teams use the stadium as their home ground.

Currently, Chiwembe ground is mostly used for social football, grassroots football and Malawi national team trainings.

Chiwembe ground is the second ground with an artificial turf in Malawi after the Kamuzu stadium and is one of the grounds certified to FIFA level which provides a top playing surface for both football players and youth sporting development.

The pitch was manufactured and installed by Act Global, the new surface features Bonar Yarns resilient to MN Spine fibres as part of the Xtreme Turf S60 construction, and was supplied by Act Global as part of the FIFA Goal Project  which was  aimed at developing and advancing football levels in different countries across the world.
