Son kills own mother in Mulanje

People of Mzizira in Traditional Authority Mthiramanja in Mulanje district have been shocked with the brutal death of a woman who was murdered by her son yesterday.

The suspect who has been identified as Sanudi Bonongwe is said to have killed his mother in reaction to accusations made by the deceased against him.

Malawi24 understands that Sanudi stole two bicycles, one of them belonging to his late mother.

After the mother noticed that her bicycle was missing, she confronted the son to return her bicycle.

This did not go well with the suspect who later killed his mother. A villager noticed some footrpints at his house and he started following them which was easy since it was raining. The final destination of the footmarks happened to be the suspect’s house.

After entering the house, he found that there was a place that was dug and buried, he along with other people removed the soil hoping to find a bicycle but on the contrary, they found the mother’s dead body.

It has been revealed that the suspect is at Mkando. We are yet to get more details on this case but we are following events with keen interest.
