‘My wife can pay me K350,000’ – Kanyenda

The veteran Polokwane City forward was heavily linked with a move to either Big Bullets or Silver Strikers but he has completely trashed the rumours saying he is able to make the K350,000 offered to him.

Speaking to a local newspaper, Esau Kanyenda, said he has no plans to play for any local side once his time at the South African club is over.

He also added that he has been offered a job at the club once he hangs up his boots.

“There is a possibility that when I retire, I will get a job (at Polokwane), so why should I blow the chance? I have also heard news that I am demanding K350 000 per month. Even if I retire now, I can be earning that money while just sitting idle and taking my kids to school. My wife can pay me that,” Kanyenda was quoted by one of the local dailies.

Unconfirmed reports pin him Malawi’s richest player having plied his trade in Europe and South Africa since leaving Dwangwa United   some time back.

He started his professional career at Jomo Cosmos before playing for a Russian Club.

Kanyenda is the only player from Malawi to have played   in the UEFA Champions League.

However, both Bullets and Silver have denied that they had an interest in the veteran forward.
