Religion: Have good Success

Jos 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.”

Some say If God wants them to be successful then they will be, if He doesnt then they cannot force it. This is not Christian statement and doesnt conform to any written Word. God says man is responsible for His prosperity and success. Man through the meditation and doing of the Word as stated above can change and turn around things in their lives so that they can have a prosperous and good success.

Three levels of meditation are discussed briefly below.

1. Mediation In the heart. This is the common one. This meditation is more of pondering in the heart of what is being said or read. Phil 4:8…if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think (meditate) on these things.” Deuteronomy 11: 18 , “Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul.”
2. Meditation with Murmuring.This is the meditation on the Word that involves speaking the word but not loudly. Actually the Hebrew Word used in Joshua 1:8 for meditation is Hagah which means to Murmur. To speak . Jos 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night…”

Even in the new testament we are encouraged that once we believe the Word, we should confess it. 2Co 4:13 “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.” Its time to speak as you do the Word.

In Deut 11: 19 shows that it is also necessary to speak the Word to yourself every time you are alone, whether at home or in the street “…. speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.”
