Devotion: Have a good Foundation

Matthew 7:24-25 “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which buildeth his house upon a rock: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.”

Are you planning for anything new in 2016, then first think of laying good foundation. When building, the higher you want to build a house, the deeper the foundation has to be. The great buildings we see all over the world, were not built in a hurry or carelessly.

The builders took time and laid very deep and strong foundations. However the simple buildings have very shallow and not strong foundations.

Pastor Daniel Walusa: Have a strong foundation.

The foundation of whatever you are planning to do, determines how successful you will do it. This simple, yet powerful principle, shows the importance of the right foundation for the structure you want to build.

It is applicable to whatever you want to build in life; it may be your ministry, career, business, finances, family and relationships.

For example if you want to be great in your career, go deep in the knowledge, effort and other things pertaining to that field. This is same for finance, family and others. Invest in the foundation for successful growth. Don’t rush for anything before you have completed the foundation.

When you want to destroy anything, you must start with the foundation. Once the foundations are destroyed, the whole structure is also destroyed.Psa 11:3 KJV “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Even when Jesus cursed the fig tree, the Bible says the roots were first affected which are the foundations of the tree.Mar 11:20 KJV* “And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.”

The first foundation before any other is Jesus.(1 Corinthians 3:11)“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”Jesus is the Word of God in flesh(John1:14). Therefore the foundation that is solid is the Word. Build a solid foundation with the Word of God in this new year.

Take time to meditate on the Word. Find time to invest in prayer and fasting towards the beginning of the year. As you do this, you drive your roots deeper in God, and no amount of trials or difficulties in the world can shake you and your project because you are built on a firm foundation.

Confession
The Word is my solid foundation an therefore I stand on the Word. My foundation can never be broken and I build a strong house on this Foundation. I am a success because I lay my foundation on the Word. In Jesus Name. Amen.
