Premier bus kills a pedestrian in Mzimba

A Premier Bus Company vehicle has hit and killed a 37 year-old man in a road accident that occurred in Malawi’s Mzimba district.

Police in Mzimba said the Man Diesel bus with the registration number NA 4819 was coming from Mzuzu and heading in the direction of Chikangawa with passengers on board.

According to Police, the accident took place at Feya area near Chikangawa Tower junction where the deceased who was drunk was trying to cross the road.

“He sustained head injuries and died on the spot while the motor vehicle had its windscreen cracked,” said Police.

Police identified the bus driver as Ecklon Ngwaya, 46, from Mtonda village, Traditional Authority (T/A) Mpama in Chiradzulu district while the deceased is 37 year-old Davie Gondwe who hails from Chimsewezu village, T/A M’belwa in Mzimba district.
