Malawi Police Service outfit, Blue Eagles FC, have failed to break into the top two as they have finished on third position in the Super League for the second consecutive season.

Blue Eagles who visited Mzuzu Stadium on Christmas Eve to meet the lions of Kaning’ina, Moyale Barracks, collected only a point in game that ended goalless.

Blue Eagles: Stick to third.

The law enforcers had to win their last match against the soldiers in order to collect three points that would have seen them finish second on goal difference since they would have had the same points as Mafco.

The result means Blue Eagles have winded up the season with 48 points from an overall of 28 matches.

They are two points behind second placed Mafco who have finished with 50 points from the same number of matches as any other team in the top tier except champions Big Bullets and Standard Bank champions, Civo United, who will meet this coming Sunday to wrap up their 2015 assignments.

However, Moyale Barracks who finished as runners up last season have failed to get an automatic ticket to play in the Standard Bank Cup.

Moyale will wait for the outcome of Civo’s match against Bullets to determine their final position as they are on 9th position with 34 points, same as Civo who can move up to 8th position to displace Kamuzu Barracks with a victory over Bullets.

Blue Eagles also finished third in the 2014 Super League season behind Moyale and Big Bullets.
