Speaking after the match, Red Lions coach, Prichard Mwansa, expressed his happiness on the victory over their fellow soldiers.

“I am happy for the three points since it was not an easy match for us to win here,” said Mwansa.

Following the win, Red Lions are on 7th position on the log table with 41 points, same as 6th placed Azam Tigers who won 2-1 in their match against Civo United at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Sunday.

Both Tigers and Red Lions have a single game remaining to wrap up the season and they will be battling it out to finish in top six to find an automatic place in the Standard Bank Cup.

For the golden boot race, Bokosi now has 14 goals, one ahead of Big Bullets forward, Chiukepo Msowoya, who has bagged 13 goals so far.
