There is no clear front runner in this season’s race for Malawi’s Super League golden boot award as two players are now tied on 13 goals ahead of the final weekend of the season.

Big Bullets and Malawi forward Chiukepo “Yakubu” Msowoya and Red Lions’ Innocent Bokosi have both hit the back of the net 13 times in the 2015 Super League season.

Chiukepo scored his 12th and 13th goals of the season when the Super League champions were playing against Peter Mponda’s Fisd Wizards in a game that ended 2-0.

However, Bokosi has been failing to put the ball into the back for the past two weeks and this has given a chance for Chiukepo to join him at the top of the goal scorers chart setting up a tough contest for this season’s golden boot award.

The two are followed in the top scorers chart by Silver Strikers forward Green Harawa who has netted on 12 occasions and Civo’s goal scoring machine Nelson Kangunje who has netted 11 goals.

Also chasing the golden boot award this season is Big Bullets striker Jaffalie Chande, Blue Eagles’ hitman Schumacher Kuwali, and Kuda Muyaba of Moyale.

Others are John Malidadi Jnr (Blue Eagles), Kumbukani Mwambeni (Red Lions) and Bright Munthali (Azam Tigers). This season’s golden boot winner will pocket K100, 000. Last season’s top goal scorer was Moyale Barracks striker Deus Nkutu.
