Coach for Malawi Super League rookies Dedza Young Soccer Stars, Miliasi Jegwe Pofera, has challenged that his team will not be relegated from the country’s top flight league this season.

Pofera is so confident his team will survive such that he told a local television station a lot of EPAC players will move to Dedza and play for his team.

“We came to stay and I can assure you that as EPAC football club, a lot of its players will join Dedza Young Soccer in the next season’s Super League,” Pofera said.

Vice general secretary for EPAC, Chiyamiko Lita, said his team’s encounter with Dedza tomorrow will be a tight match but he hopes his side will survive in the elite league since things have changed for them in the second round.

“We are trying on the ground and things are changing for the better it’s possible to beat Dedza,” said Lita.

EPAC and Dedza will meet in both teams’ last game on Saturday at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe in a relegation showdown.

The game will be a must win game for EPAC as they have 27 points, while for Dedza Young Soccer a draw will be enough as they are on position 12 with 29 points.
