Primary school teacher rapes 3 pupils

Malawi Police in Blantyre city are keeping in custody a teacher for being suspected to have sexually assaulted his three standard eight students.

Reports reaching this publication show that the suspect, Harry Thokozani, 47, who is a teacher at Chisombezi Primary School in Bangwe has been assaulting the girls for some time.

On November 19 this year, Thokozani defiled a certain girl from his class who told her two friends what she had done with the teacher without knowing that those friends had also gone through the same things.

Later, the three girls agreed to report the matter to their head teacher who did not hesitate but to take the three victims to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) for medical examination.

However, QECH was hiding the results of their findings and this did not go well with the parents of the three girls.

The parents joined hands and reported the matter to Bangwe police who launched an investigation into the matter.

QECH later released the results which showed that the girls had really been defiled.

Police have now nabbed the suspect who upon being interrogated, admitted that he defiled the girls.

One of the three girls has so far revealed that this was not the first time to be defiled by this man.

She said the teacher defiled her for six times and he used condoms on three occasions.

The suspect who was teaching Life Skills, Expressive Arts and English at the school hails from Chapita village in the area of Traditional Authority Masasa in Ntcheu and is being expected to appear before court soon to answer charges of defilement.
