Malawi’s AHL Group of Companies, earlier this week , awarded various prizes to this year’s outstanding members of staff at the corporation.
Speaking during the event which took place in Lilongwe, AHL Group of Companies Chief Executive Officer, Dr Charles Matabwa, asked AHL Group members of staff to be innovative in the course of their duties.
“As we are commemorating this event let me ask all of you to be innovative in the course of your duties,” said Matabwa.
Isaac Kambirinya, who is AHL Group’s administrative executive, thanked the AHL members of staff for their hard work.
Kambirinya said investing in human resource is vital in every stage of corporate capabilities. AHL Group is one of the oldest and most established companies in Malawi and has been in existence since 1936.
The company has experienced massive growth through its diversification agenda which has witnessed a shift from being a predominantly tobacco marketing company to a group of diversified companies with strategic business investment portfolios.
It was formerly known as Auction Holdings Limited until 26th February 2015 and is one of Malawi’s key strategic partners for local and international investors.
AHL Group operates tobacco markets in Malawi and it wholly owns Malawi Leaf Company Limited (MLCL), TIL Limited, Agricultural Trading Company (ATC), AHL Chemicals and Steel Limited (ACSL) and AHL Commodities Exchange (AHCX).
Dossier from AHL Group indicates that through these investments, AHL Group is positioned to contribute in driving Malawi’s economy to another level.
