Flames play Uganda in Cecafa Quarterfinal today

Flames take on Uganda today.

The Malawi national football team will today play against the ‘Cranes’ of Uganda at the ongoing Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup in Ethiopia.

When they lost their last match against South Sudan in group C, the Flames had already qualified for the quarterfinals after beating Sudan and Djibouti in their first two games.

The last time the two sides met was on 6th July 2015 at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre in a game which Malawi won 1-0 through Chiukepo Msowoya’s late header.

The two sides have met 26 times since 1971 and the Flames have won 13 times, lost 8 times and drawn 5 times.

The 2015 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup quarterfinal fixtures are as follows:

Monday, 30th November 2015

Uganda Vs Malawi

Tanzania Vs Ethiopia Tuesday,

1st December 2015

South Sudan Vs Sudan

Rwanda Vs Kenya

  3. The coach should not exclude chiukepo & the headmaster in national fixtures. Why why why coach? Dont be jalousy let the bullets players show to malawians that they are able.

      It is Uganda, that has won 13, now 14 times over Malawi in all games! 🙂
